The Alterego bi:o’cor:k technology is our latest innovation and thanks to this we have been selected as one of the top newcomers of the sports industry at ISPO Brandnew 2021, the biggest platform for sporty startups worldwide.
Bi:o’cor:k stands for bi:o (biological) and cor:k (core made of cork). In addition to the two cork stringers, a completely environmentally friendly and compostable core is integrated and a lamination made of basalt is used instead of fiberglass. This makes the production even more sustainable and resource-efficient in relation to the environment.
Main features:
- Compostable blank: 6-8 weeks industrial or 10-12 weeks home composting
- Two internal curvilinear cork stringers: flexibility control, vibration damping, improved rebounds response
- Bio-resin laminated (sicomin, most advanced bio material)
- Basalt fiber layers for stiffness and therefore more speed and more responsiveness while maintaining ACT flex and damping control
- Hand-designed, cad converted, high precision cnc-cutted, hand-finished
The ACT 3.0 is an improvement of our standard ACT 2.0, using basalt fiber which allows to improve technical performances in terms of resistance responsiveness and, as a natural material, is also more sustainable than standard fiberglass. Thanks to the innovative construction, Alterego boards are extremely resistant while maintaining their intrinsic features of responsiveness and flexibility.

The standard production of surfboards considers the use of a central stringer to stiffen the polystyrene core of the board along with further external stiffening with glass fiber.
Alterego reverses the concept introducing two curvilinear and longitudinal stringers made in cork, that allow to control flexibility, a previously unmanageable parameter. The result is immediately tangible from all points of view: better flexibility, shock absorption and improved rebounds. Cork is great for vibration damping; this allows speed control also in choppy conditions, balancing extra-pop in critical turns with smooth transitions in foamy sections. Feel free to be as radical as you can: cork stringers will help you with safe landings, working as shock absorbers for your ankles and knees. Unique flex and soft rebound give immediately a natural feeling to every kind of surfer, no matter what level you are.
